Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
I was a little intimidated by that title, but then I realized these were God’s words; not mine. And in truth, we do find ourselves in a place where the old is gone and the new has come.
Thousands of Methodists from around the world have come together to form a Christ centered Methodist church steeped in Scripture and the great confessions of the Christian faith. We envision a global church fired by a warm hearted, Wesleyan expression of that faith dedicated to sharing the Gospel in word and deed.
This message to you serves as a special welcome to the Global Methodist Church! Already, 76 churches and over 18,000 professing members have come together to form the Mid-Texas Provisional Conference of the GM Church. The Conference stretches from the Red River to the Gulf of Mexico, and includes congregations from North Texas, Central Texas and Rio Texas areas. We anticipate two more major waves of local churches joining the Conference in 2023, one in January and a second in June. We believe the Conference will grow from strength to strength, bearing witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
As the Conference grows at home, we will also join Global Methodists all around the world to reach people everywhere with the Good News. We believe the clarity of our shared beliefs will make way for the Holy Spirit to bring new life to existing congregations and sow seeds for planting new ones!
Local churches in the Mid-Texas Provisional Annual Conference are sensing a new birth of freedom to dedicate ourselves to our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly!
The old is gone and the new is here! Let us seize this new day with all our hearts, all our minds, and all our strength as we share the transforming love of Jesus Christ with all people!
Blessings,
